Brooke Hardt

CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, Coaching CrossFit Kids Since Spring 2025

Brooke has been involved in fitness for as long as she can remember. She discovered CrossFit in 2018 and has trained consistently while raising three children. Her speciality is youth training, and she "loves watching the kids get excited to work out and set records!"

 

 

Dan Couture

Our resident weightlifting expert, Dan specializes in Olympic weightlifting, strength and conditioning, and competition programming. His love is what most people hate: the snatch - but he is exceptionally patient at helping athletes learn to excel at the difficult and technical movement. He says he loves the Phalanx "atmosphere of all the athletes and the ability to witness athletes go beyond their believed capabilities."

 

 

Daniel Gomez

Assistant Coaching Since Summer 2025

Daniel is one of the youngest coaches in the crew, which is exactly why our kids love working with him! Highly energetic and fun, Daniel assists with our CrossFit Kids and Youth barbell programs. A competitive runner himself, Daniel is gifted at helping kids enjoy fitness and mobility work.

Daniel says, "I like to make people see the beauty of working out." 

Dave Fitzpatrick

CrossFit Level 2 Trainer, Coaching Since 2023

Coach Dave's specialty is body weight movements, and his focus is on mobility and endurance training. He stays busy at home and at the gym with a wife and three kids, who are constantly involved in sports and school activities. 

When asked what he loves about Phalanx, Dave says, "The members are the best! They are all open to coaching and feedback. They come from all walks of life and have many different experiences."

Jessica Couch

CrossFit Level 2 Trainer, Coaching Since 2015

Fitness is a way of life for Coach Jess, who focuses on overall strength, health, and wellness for all ages. She feels privileged to participate in our members' life-changing tranformations and loves watching the Phalanx crew succeed in their everyday lives. 

Jessica says, "I will stop traffic to save a turtle!"  

Lauryn Walker

CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, Coaching Since 2023

Lauryn has been keeping this place running since she started working here in 2023. This powerhouse somehow balances coaching, facility management, college, and her own fitness - and she does it with style! The youngest (and quietest) member of the adult coaching team, Lauryn's extensive CrossFit knowledge and uncanny ability to spot and correct the flaw are true coaching strengths. She's been known to hug dogs, but not snakes. 

Olivia Hochevar

Working at Phalanx Since Spring 2025

Olivia is our resident softball expert. You'll find her working with the kids and running our batting cages while she completes her senior year and prepares to attend college in Florida, where she will study marine biology and play college ball. Her favorite thing about working at Phalanx is "seeing the kids get so excited when they finally accomplish what they have been working on." 

Pablo Fierro

CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, Coaching at Phalanx since Fall 2025

Pablo has been in the fitness community for over 12 years with a focus on Oly lifting, and we're thrilled to have him at Phalanx CrossFit to coach our CrossFit and Youth Barbell classes. When he's not working or coaching, Pablo enjoys completing triathalons. What does he love most about Phalanx? "The Community!"

 

Shane Brown

Experienced in general weightlifting, golf, mountain biking and overall fitness, Shane is a long distance runner who has completed multiple half and full marathons. This multi-faceted athlete also holds a first degree black belt in Chinese Kenpo karate. His coaching focus is safety - you know you are in good hands with Coach Shane. 

Shane says, "I love witnessing the "ah-ha" moment on an athlete's face when they get a movement for the very first time!" 

Tammy Luikart

In college, Tammy played volleyball and ran marathons for the Naval Academy before joining the Army and discovering CrossFit in 2009. Since then, she has competed at the CrossFit Games in 2010 and at the Mid-Atlantic Regionals in 2011, 2012, and 2013. Tammy has her PhD in English and is in the Army Reserve, but what does she love most? ..."helping people discover for themselves how fitness improves their quality of life in so many ways!"
