Join Zack for a 6-hour positional shooting training event at the beautiful Pigg River Precision on 24 May 2026. 

Students will learn how to apply the fundamentals of marksmanship from various positions, working from 100 yards to beyond 1000 yards. Zack will cover rifle setup and the types of support equipment utilized to comfortably engage targets from non prone positions.

Start time: 9am on the upper range.

Who is Zack L?

Zack grew up hunting and shooting in Western Pennsylvania - developing skills that he continued to hone during his 20+ years of service in the U.S. Army as a sniper and working in Special Operations. In 2020, Zack launched his civilian shooting career, founding Phalanx Shooting Systems to build and develop competition gas guns. In 2024, he added bolt guns to the PSS arsenal and completed in his first full Precision Rifle Series season. He earned the Top Amateur prize and his professional rating, finishing 61 overall for that season.
In addition to building, testing, and load development, Zack now offers individual and group coaching to help new and experienced shooters improve everything from fundamentals to advanced precision rifle match preparation programs.
You'll likely see Zack's wife -Tammy- and their two boys - Taylor and Walter - supporting Zack at matches. When he isn't shooting, he coaches the boys' sports teams, helps his wife run their CrossFit gym, and hunts.

PRECISION RIFLE RELOADING COURSE

Bring your own rifle and learn how to reload custom ammunition for it.

We have partnered with Blue Collar Reloading and designed a course that covers everything needed for long range competition and hunting. Phalanx Shooting systems will take the guesswork out and help you to standardize your reloading process.  Whether you have a full blown custom rifle or one off the rack, handloading is the key to unlock your rifle's full potential. During the 6 hour course we will cover:

  • The different types of reloading presses, dies, powder scales, brass trimmers, and annealers
  • All of the accessory tools to ensure the most consistent ammunition production
  • How to select reloading components for your ammunition
  • The most current reloading processes and techniques utilized by precision reloaders
  • How to prepare unfired brass for its first use
  • How to resize fired brass for your specific chamber
  • How to conduct seating depth and charge weight load development
Blue Collar Reloading will have several different packages of reloading setups available that you can order ahead of time and have delivered to the course. We will help you get everything set up with you during the training. You also have the option to bring your current equipment in for the training and see how to employ the current reloading processes by some of the best shooters in the region.
